Oyster Indulgence
You simply cannot visit Coffin Bay without an oyster experience. Experience Coffin Bay offers comfortable and educational tours to their oyster lease on their brand new vessel, CB1. Enjoy oysters fresh from the sea of course, and a bay tour where you are likely to see sealions and dolphins as you glide past the National Park on the way to the lease. Oh, and there is also a a bar on board to help wash down the shellfish.
You will also find Oyster HQ - the home of the oyster pavillion, situated in the waters of Coffin Bay. Wade out to the Saltwater Pavillon in supplied waders, and sample the freshest oysters, paired with South Australian wine. Learn about the oyster industry, all whilst sitting in the water at the 'saltwater dining table'.
Wining and Dining
Local eateries offering premium seafood experiences include: Fumo 28 Oysterbar, Sarin's Restaurant in the Port Lincoln Hotel, and the Marina Hotel. For an all 'round seafood experience you can't go past The Fresh Fish Place, combining factory tours, a fresh seafood outlet and some of the best in-house fish and chips in town.
Port Lincoln is home to a number of boutique wineries including the iconic Boston Bay Winery featuring picturesque views of Boston Bay. Famous for its 'Great White" Sauvignon Blanc and chef/part time comedian, Tony Ford, the winery is a great place to kick back on the lawns on a clear winter's day, with tasting paddle of Fordies best wines, accompanied with a divine seafood tasting platter to match.
Peter Teakle Winery features an amazing cellar door that must be visited, along with beautiful gardens and vineyards, whilst Lincoln Estate Wines owned by the Turvey Family, is situated at Glen Forest Tourist Park, a 20 minute drive in the Port Lincoln hinterland. A great spot to spend an afternoon with the family.
