Cage Diving With Great White Sharks
To see a Great White Shark gliding towards you is a truly awe-inspiring experience. Port Lincoln is the only place in Australia where you can meet these magnificent predators from the safety of a cage dive. Each of the below operators holds eco-certification and are passionate about the conservation of Australia’s Great White Sharks. Rest assured, all of these tours are responsible, sustainable, and safe for both humans and sharks.
Calypso Star Charters and Rodney Fox Shark Tours both offer day trips from Port Lincoln Marina. Leaving early in the morning, the tours travel by boat to Neptune Islands, the only site in Australia where cage diving is permitted. No previous diving experience is required to swim with the sharks. Tours include food and both operators are family-friendly, but it is a long day out on the boat so these tours are recommended for children aged eight and above.
You simply cannot visit Coffin Bay without an oyster experience. Experience Coffin Bay offers comfortable and educational tours to their oyster lease on their brand new vessel, CB1. Enjoy oysters fresh from the sea of course, and a bay tour where you are likely to see sealions and dolphins as you glide past the National Park on the way to the lease. Oh, and there is also a a bar on board to help wash down the shellfish.
You will also find Oyster HQ - the home of the oyster pavillion, situated in the waters of Coffin Bay. Wade out to the Saltwater Pavillon in supplied waders, and sample the freshest oysters, paired with South Australian wine. Learn about the oyster industry, all whilst sitting in the water at the 'saltwater dining table'.
