Self Contained Vehicle Overnight Permit
Self contained recreational vehicle overnight stays are available at Axel Stenross boat ramp and Billy Lights Point boat ramp.
Cost per night is $16.00 per night plus booking Fees.
Both sites are used for both boats and RV camping, we recommend visiting the site to ensure availability before booking.
Please ensure you are only in 1 parking bay.
Suitable for motorhomes or self-contained caravans. You must have your own power supply, shower, toilet, grey and black water storage.
Please keep clear of boat launching areas at all times.
Parking for overnight stays is not permitted outside of the designated areas.
These two designated areas as authorised by Council and pursuant to the City of Port Lincoln By-Law No 4 Local Government Land.
Overnight stays are not authorised in other areas of the City, with the exception of the designated caravan park. Permit fee of $15.00 per night is applicable, permits are also available from the Port Lincoln Visitor Information Centre.
For all NON FULLY SELF CONTAINED CARAVANS, CAMPER TRAILERS, CAMPERVANS OR TENTS please enjoy your stay at one of our local caravan parks.

Axel Stenross boat ramp is located 97 Lincoln Highway.
Billy Lights Point boat ramp is located Saint Andrews Drive.
Please note: SA Water is constructing a desalination plant at Billy Lights Point between May 2025 and the end of 2026. Construction activities near the Self Contained Vehicle parking may cause some disruption, but we will endeavour to post any excessive activities that may impact customers online.
As part of SA Water's desalination plant works, our construction partner, Acciona, is planning to undertake night works associated with the Terrestrial Pipeline road crossing, commencing on Sunday, 27 September 2026. These works are expected to continue for approximately four weeks.
The works are required to facilitate the open-cut installation of the terrestrial pipeline, which crosses the current SA Water Wastewater Treatment Plant and Australian Fishing Enterprises (Sarins) entrances, and must be completed within a critical project timeframe.
As part of these activities, there is a possibility that rock may be encountered within the trench, requiring the use of a rock hammer excavator. If this occurs, elevated noise levels may be experienced during the night works period. Based on the current assessment, the likelihood of encountering rock is considered low and, should it be encountered, it is anticipated to be at a significant depth within the trench, providing some level of noise attenuation.
Acciona will implement noise controls in line with its EPA-approved Construction Environmental Management Plan.
Additional mitigation measures include:
• Night Works Plan
• Noise minimisation measures
• Appropriate site lighting
• Noise monitoring
There may also be increased vehicle movements entering and exiting the work area during this period, with traffic management measures in place to minimise disruption.
SA Water has undertaken extensive engagement with AFE and WWTP staff, to ensure the works do not inconvenience business as usual for either site.
We will also be notifying the Visitor Information Centre, to update and notify any RV Park users during this time.
