Set on private Louth Island just off the coast of Port Lincoln, Samphire at Rumi on Louth became known for a refined dining experience grounded in provenance, seasonality and place.
Led by Executive Chef Jono Sweet, the restaurant followed a produce-driven approach, drawing from the Eyre Peninsula’s exceptional seafood, local growers and native coastal landscape. Menus reflected a restrained blend of Modern Australian and Mediterranean influences, shaped by the rhythms of the island and the surrounding Southern Ocean.
Samphire was recognised with two Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hats since 2025 placing the restaurant among Australia’s leading regional dining destinations.
As Rumi on Louth transitions into the next phase of its long-term vision, dining operations are currently paused alongside guest accommodation and visitor experiences.
