Makybe Diva Statue

Makybe Diva became the first horse to win the Melbourne Cup on three consecutive occasions (2003, 2004, and 2005). 2005 also saw her win Cox Plate, making her the highest stakes-earner in Australian horse racing history, with winnings of more than A$14 million. She is one of only five horses to have won the Cup more than once, and the only mare among the list of multiple winners.

Owned by Tony Santic, one of the iconic tuna fisherman of Port Lincoln, he was British-bred but Australian trained horse. The impressive life sized replica of the famous horse was designed by local artist Ken Martin.
