The Teakle Auto Sprint is a tarmac based sprint race held biennially on the streets of Port Lincoln in South Australia. The inaugural event was held in 2017 and after receiving overwhelming positive support from competitors, visitors and the local community, it returned bigger and better in 2018.
Datsuns to Lamborghinis, Fords to Ferraris, WRXs, Skylines, Pulsars, Mustangs old and new, Toranas and Monaros to name a few, raced on two versions of the course over two days. The short course on Saturday and the long course on Easter Sunday.
Tarmac Circuit, Dirt/Tarmac Rally and Hill Climb Cars are eligible. These competitors have a high degree of skill and professionalism. This will be an invitational event with an approval system based on driver experience, quality and type of car.
The Auto Sprint is held near the foreshore in the center of Port Lincoln. The central location of the main event and pit lane puts it within a couple of minutes walk of major accommodation and a selection of restaurants, pubs and cafes to suit anyone’s taste. Pit lane is fully accessible to ticket holders, allowing the public to get up close and personal with the competing vehicles as they enter and exit the track. It is also located literally a stones throw away from the beach and fishing jetty.
