SUMMARY:Jen Lush: Hum Of The Mettle
DESCRIPTION:First commissioned by the Denmark Festival of Voice\, WA\, Hum Of The Mettle is nine songs crafted around contemporary poetry. Featuring the words of five of Australia’s leading poets\, it crosses through the urban and desert terrain of Australia with poems that speak of love and desolation\, loss and memory\, the resilience of country and the stories held within it. \nCreated in collaboration with poets (Ali Cobby Eckermann\, Maria Zajkowski\, Kevin Brophy\, Renee Pettitt-Schipp\, Graham Kershaw) and Jen’s stellar band (James Brown\, Paul Angas\, Sam Cagney\, Mark Seddon) they form a dynamic range from epic 70’s rock soundscapes\, sudden storms of explosive pop\, driving indie folk-rock and whispering\, sparse ballads that build to cathartic crescendos with storytelling always at the centre. \n  \n“There is an intimacy here\, a sharing of secrets.. brilliantly executed\, thoroughly engaging\, and utterly beautiful.” Broadway World \n“An enchanting\, otherworldly experience for listeners.” Beat Magazine \n  \nPlease note: $2 booking fee
